cedar or juniper... have short very prickery needles and bluish grey berries. Lots of them. a lot of time they will be all twisted..depends on where they grow.I certainly would not call the berries...

Yew is poisonous! All pines are edible and I believe most spruces are too. Think the larch wasn't palatable. But definetly the yew is a no go ~ I've worked in the landscape industry for a long time...
